University of Arkansas Spirit Squads

Purpose: Spirit Leaders are Ambassadors, Entertainers, Crowd Leaders, Spirit Raisers, or Athletes

Mission: Razorback Spirit Squads are ambassadors, crowd leaders, entertainers, and athletes who uphold the integrity of the University of Arkansas at all events on campus and in the community; promoting equality for all Hogs Fans.

Scholarship Amounts:

First Year – $1,000 per semester

Second Year  – $1,300 per semester

Third/Fourth Year – $1,600 per semester

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.

Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Scholarship

This scholarship program encourages and promotes music education in the state of Arkansas.  It will be awarded to two Arkansas high school seniors who meet the qualifications. More details are on the website.

American Legion High School Oratorical Contest

US Army-Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence

The U.S. Army and the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the sixth year of their partnership on the national U.S. Army – Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence. The program is currently accepting nominations and is open to all sophomore, junior and senior high school student-athletes in the United States.

The Award for Excellence program recognizes 25 outstanding high school student-athletes who are chosen as finalists based on their excellence in academics, athletics and community service.

Governor's Distinguished Scholarship (YOUniversal Application)

Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship 

The Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship is the most academically rigorous scholarship program offered for those graduating seniors scoring either 32 on the ACT or 1410 on the SAT and having a 3.50 academic grade point average. Those who are named National Merit Finalists or National Achievement Scholars may qualify without meeting the GPA requirement but must still meet the ACT/SAT requirement. The scholarship pays tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board up to $10,000 per year.

Scholarship Deadline to Apply:

February 01, 2018

Requirements:

Student must have at least a 32 ACT (1410 SAT) and a 3.5 GPA to apply. FAFSA is not required.

Award Amount:

$10,000 per year

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships

Through its Mentoring and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.

Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators (AAFC)

The Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators (AAFC) is offering the AAFC Scholarship to high school seniors to supplement college costs beginning their freshman year. This scholarship award is $1,000 for the first academic year and will be awarded to full-time students who enroll in an Arkansas college or university, including junior colleges, community and vocational or technical colleges, and plan to major in education.

Basic eligibility requirements include:

1.  Remain in school for eight (8) consecutive semesters or until graduation requirements have been met

2.  Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale

3.  Good citizenship record; no suspensions or expulsions

4.  Membership in a service or academic organization (extracurricular activity may be substituted)

5.  Letter of recommendation from a principal, teacher, counselor, or a non-family member. Three (3) letters of        recommendation are required.

6.  Plan to work in the field of education

American Legion Coudret Trust Scholarship and Garner Trust Scholarship

The American Legion of Arkansas has two scholarships available.

The senior must be a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of an American Legionnaire and in good standing.  

Applications are available in the Counselors Office.

Future Teacher Scholarship

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international and altruistic organization for female educators. One of their monetary projects is to give a $750 scholarship to a high school female planning to attend college. The student must be pursuing a degree in education  with the desire to becoming a teacher.

Submissions must be received no later than March 23, 2018 at the address listed on the application.

Applications are available in the counselors office.

 

 

 

Arkansas Academic Challenge (YOUniversal application)

Academic Challenge Scholarships

The Academic Challenge Program provides scholarships to Arkansas residents pursuing a higher education. Funded in large part by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, the Academic Challenge Scholarship is available to students regardless of their academic status, whether just graduating from high school, currently enrolled in college, enrolling in college for the first time, or re-enrolling after a period of time out of college.

Scholarship Deadline to Apply:  June 01, 2018

Requirements:

Starting with the class of 2016, the only requirement is a 19 on the ACT or ACT equivalent score, FAFSA Required.

Big Sun Scholarship

The Big Sun Organization offers young athletes a scholarship to help them succeed in their academic pursuits.
