The 2026 Marion track teams defended their home turf in a major way last week.

Hosting the annual Patriot Relays at Southern Bancorp Stadium, Marion's 4X4 400-meter relay boys team of Kajeris Hill, Jeremy Dent, Kam Riley, and Chris Hardin shattered the school record, taking first place with a 3:23.3 time, highlighting a plethora of Marion success.

Marion's Rico Ward and Jeremiah Dent finished first and second, respectively, in the boys 100-meter dash. Ward took gold with an 11.14 mark, while Dent was just behind at 11.28.

Ward was back at it in the 200-meter dash, winning the gold after running a 22.43, while Jeremy Dent took third place with a 23.20.
Chris Hardin again claimed a 400-meter gold medal, besting the field with a 48.53.

Jotavivs Anderson finished third in the boys 800 meters with a 2:13.69.

Jose Rameriz won the boys 1600 meters with a 4:42.67, and he took down the boys 3200 meters gold with a 10:23.69, while Jude Johnson took third with an 11:21.59.

Marion took the top two in the boys 110 meter hurdles as Rukeim Bohanon and Chris Byrd earned their way to the top with marks of 15.90 and 16.68, respectively.

Justin Foster (42.98) and Ethan Winders (44.33) finished second and third, respectively, in the boys 300 meter hurdles.

Kole Clay finished third in the boys long jump with a mark of 21-8.00, and he was second in the boys triple jump with a mark of 44-3.50.

Chase Davis (9-0.0) and Tyson Griffin (7-6.00) finished second and third in the boys pole vault finals, respectively.

Gavin Latham took second place in the boys shot put finals (45-0.0).

Perhaps most impressively, Marion won the boys 4X100 meter relays (43.24), the boys 4X200 meter relays (1:31.16), and the boys 4X800 meter relays (8:50.81).

The Marion girls also produced positive results.

Summer Morgan earned a third-place finish in the girls 200-meter dash.

Aniyah Broyles earned the gold in the girls 800 meters with a mark of 2:35.53.

Mya Harris (6:53.92) and Luz Arreola (7:07.11) earned second and third-place finishes in the girls 1600 meters, respectively. Arreola finished second in the girls 3200 meters with a time of 15:24.15.

Laniya Crayton won the girls high jump with a mark of 5-2.0, and Harris won the girls pole vault (7-0.0).

J'Adore Taylor (16-9.50) finished third in the girls long jump.

The Patriot ladies earned silver medal finishes in the girls 4X100 meters, 4X200 meters, and 4X400 meters.
