Graduation

The Marion High School Class of 2025 will hold its graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Southern Bancorp Stadium.

Admission to the graduation ceremony is free, and no tickets are required for the outdoor ceremony. For those who cannot attend, livestream coverage will be available via the district’s YouTube channel. Link here: Graduation

Out of respect for the safety of our students and our guests, all attendees are asked to note the following guidelines:

  • The district’s CLEAR BAG POLICY will be in effect. All bags brought into the venue must be clear (plastic, vinyl, etc.), with the exception of small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap. For more details, follow this link: Clear Bag Policy

  • A strict “NO DRONE ZONE” will be enforced during the ceremony.

  • Attendees are asked to refrain from sounding noise-makers or throwing confetti during the event.

  • To avoid long lines and logjams at entry points, guests are strongly encouraged to ARRIVE EARLY.

  • For parking information, please see the map below!

CONTINGENCY PLANS

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to 7 p.m. the same day, with preference to remaining at the football stadium location. However, if inclement weather persists, an abbreviated ceremony will be held indoors at Fidelity Bank Arena. A decision on the location of the 7 p.m. ceremony will be announced by 5 p.m.

If the ceremony is moved to the arena, due to capacity limits, the following procedures will be implemented:

  • Each graduate will receive 4 BLUE tickets that will be used for general admission into the arena to view the ceremony from the seats.

  • Each graduate will also receive 2 RED tickets that will be used by two escorts designated by graduates to accompany them during the processional.

  • Graduates will receive their tickets during their graduation rehearsal on Thursday. No one will be allowed entry to the arena without a BLUE or a RED ticket.

  • The indoor ceremony will be abbreviated. Graduates will not be seated on the arena floor. Instead, they will line up in the MJHS hallway, proceed through the arena floor, receive their diplomas, shake hands, have their photo taken, and then exit the arena.

  • Student speakers will give their speeches as planned before the processional begins.
