The Marion School District will transition to a fully cashless payment system for all athletics events beginning this Thursday (Aug. 27, 2026). The change is intended to improve safety and provide greater convenience for both event attendees and workers. Under the new system, all admission and concession purchases at Marion School District athletic events, regardless of location, will be cashless.
The new system will be in place for Thursday’s varsity volleyball game against Valley View and junior high football games against Wynne. Tickets for all Marion events can be purchased using this link.
The cashless system will mirror the systems now used at most college and professional sporting events, concert venues, movie theaters, and many high schools.
“We are excited to modernize the way our community accesses athletic and activity events,” said Jonathan Crymes, Marion Athletic Director. “We know any change in the way we do things comes with a learning curve, but we believe digital ticketing will ultimately provide a faster, more secure, and more convenient experience while allowing us to better serve our students, families, and fans.”
All event tickets will be sold digitally through GoFan. Attendees may purchase tickets in advance at GoFan.co or through the GoFan mobile app. For added convenience, a QR code will be available at event entrances, allowing guests to purchase tickets directly from their phones. Staff members and point-of-sale systems also will be available at the gate to assist guests who need to purchase tickets when they arrive.
Additionally, beginning with the 2026-27 school year, admission to regular-season Patriot athletics events will be $7 per person.
This pricing applies to all school-age children and adults. Patriot Passes, AAA passes, and student/staff athletic passes will continue to be accepted as they have in previous years. Tournaments and postseason events will continue to follow separate pricing structures.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance whenever possible, which will help make the admission process as quick and convenient as possible.
