Mrs. West’s Family and Consumer Science classes took their final knife lab assessments by cooking soup recipes this week. Reasoning, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, soft skills, kitchen math, reactive science, planning, and preparation are all layered within the broad concepts of cooking. With an emphasis on executing multiple technical actions as a team, cooking labs at MJHS gives students the empirical-rational skills alongside the necessary science based curriculum for future employability.
