Bright Futures Marion gave Coach Neeley and students in her PE class an opportunity to work out a little differently today. They used this time to pack, unload, and load for families in Marion School District. The students were able to earn volunteer hours and help their community thanks to their teacher, Mrs. Julie Coveny (Director of Federal Programs), Mrs, Ruth Hegwood-Mills (District Supervisor of Instructional) and Ms. Kennidi Ridgell (School Based Site Coordinator).

Marion Junior High School worked with School Based Site Coordinator, Kennidi Ridgell to host a Vaping and E-Cigarettes workshop for students. Shaina Doherty, Youth Engagement Coordinator with Crowley’s Ridge Development Council spoke with students about the dangers of tobacco and vaping. The speaker provided students with information, statistics, prevention and treatment.
Students were introduced to the NAVIG8 app. This app was created by the Arkansas Department of Health specifically aimed at helping youth that are addicted to vaping.
