School was back in full swing this week and so are the upcoming events! You will want to take a good look at everything important coming up!
Awards Assemblies start tomorrow.
Red Ribbon Week is next week, Oct. 23-27.
You can also find information below about MST t-shirts as well as fundraiser pick ups.

Greenhouse class is a place for everybody to grow, students and teachers alike!
Students in Ms. Mattox's homeroom invited her to join in with them when they planted tomato seeds during Greenhouse class. Thank you, Ms. Banks, for letting Ms. Mattox join in as a student for the day!

Last week, fourth-graders took a trip to Hijinx and had a blast!

Book Tasting
Kindergarten kicked off Module 1 of Wit & Wisdom with their very own book tasting. Students transformed into chefs and used their menu to decide which books they were the most excited to read.

Ms. Mattox's class has been exploding with learning and good times! Pictured below are some students reading their summaries about blood vessels from their current reading in Wit & Wisdom, “The Circulatory Story.” Next, it was a selfie kind of day for last week’s lunch crew where they eat lunch together and have convos beyond the lessons!

Our MST Patriots were so excited to cheer on our MJHS and MHS Patriots yesterday during the Homecoming Parade! Good luck tonight, Pats! MST is cheering you on!

It's always a great time when you get to learn in Mrs. Gilbert's class! From students leading routines to taking your math lesson outside, there is definitely some first-grade fun always going on!

Check out this week's round-up of fabulous morning announcement helpers!

Another week is here and so is another dose of fabulous MST helpers!

Mrs. Waldrip's kindergarten class has been hard at work from Reading Horizons to learning about the 5 senses! Students bounced a ball as part of the "My Five Senses" book and determined what senses they were using as they bounced the ball.

Celebrate good times, come on!
These fourth-grade students were voted by their peers to receive the initiative award. We are so proud of you, Alice Hall and Wesly Hollingsworth!

Fourth-graders have been learning about the 5 forms of energy. Students got to practice their skills at making a complete closed circuit that the electrons could flow through. Students had success at making a light turn on, making a fan, and building a circuit that would play music.

Kindergartners became SCIENTISTS last week in library! 🤓 They used their 5 senses to identify a mystery substance which led them to the conclusion ....POP ROCKS! Did you know when you put a balloon filled with pop rocks on top of a Coca-Cola and drop the pop rocks in, that it will inflate the balloon? 😮

In Discovery class, students celebrated International Dot Day by making their mark and exploring their own creativity! Some students built as many different structures as they could using dots candy and some explored dots using augmented reality. Other classes explored dots by designing new creations out of dots and using a variety of activities from the dot day choice board.

Speaking and listening are at the core of learning in ELA classes and Wit & Wisdom curriculum. Pictured here are some of the students in Ms. Cheers' third grade class learning how to engage in a Socratic Seminar during their ELA time.

It was a foil boat challenge kind of day in Mrs. Smith's class! Students got into groups and constructed boats out of one piece of foil. The groups were trying to build a boat strong enough to hold the items such as penny, pencil, cotton ball, wooden stick, crayon, and rubber band. Then they were able to each get another piece of foil and build their own individual boat and see whose boat could hold the most pennies!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to MST CIA, First Source Business Supplies and Burlap & Twine for treating our staff during Parent-Teacher Conferences. We so appreciate you!

When you show excellent behavior in Mrs. Bouey's class, you get to have lunch with the crew in the classroom.
